Description:
Foam-filled fenders which can be suspended on the dock face or floated, depending on the type of dock, tidal variations, etc. Generally, only padeyes or anchor points are needed to secure the fender to the pier.
The central core of the fender is constructed of a closed-cell plastic foam. This foam absorbs the impact energy of the approaching vessel by the compression of the thousands of small, individual foam cells. Surrounding the foam core is a robust elastomer covering reinforced with nylon cord. The smooth, low friction surface is also non-marking. An internal chain strength member joins the fender end fittings.
